Watch it grow!

Now that I have a camera again, I was finally able to re-inventory my postcard collection, last done over a year ago. (It's much easier to count them in a photo so that you can mark the ones you've already tallied and, after all, I am a remote sensor...) Bask in its glory!

There are now 374 postcards on the main wall. But that's not all! As you can see, carrying capacity has been reached, and the collection has been forced to colonize a new wall. It is now a metapopulation :D. (Actually, you can thank Francis for that extremely geeky observation, not me!) The new wall hosts 26 postcards, yielding a grand total of 400! (Which doesn't count the ugly ones that didn't make it onto either wall. (Some ugly ones did, but they're in relatively unobtrusive spots, like behind the cat tree :D.))

That's 93 more than at the last count! I never expected it to grow that quickly, and I don't think it's ever had such an intrinsic rate of increase before (yes, this post does have an ecogeeky subtheme). I think this is largely thanks to Jenny. She's been a very prolific postcard sender for the past year!

Thanks to all of you who've contributed; shame on you who haven't; and don't forget to keep them coming! :D

  • Ah, you have a stuffed banana! It reminds me of the stuffed corn I mentally fantasized about and wanted during our long car rides through whatever that town is that has a corn festival.
