My moment

Sometimes I turn out to be funnier than even I think I am. Times like Thursday, when I went to see the San Francisco Ballet with Adam. Donia was supposed to be my hot date, but had to stay home with her germies instead. Although I missed her company, I think I did her proud with this quip:

During the second intermission I was thirsty, so I went to get some water from the drinking fountain. Adam wanted to go to the bathroom so we walked over to the side with the men's room, bantering all the while (of course). I told him to hurry up because if they rang the chimes while he was still in there I'd leave him. He expressed statements to the effect that it wouldn't be the same without him. "Yeah! I'd get to use my opera glasses!" I taunted back. Which made me start to wonder where my binoculars were... I looked around for them and noticed that he still had them, so I asked for them back.

He resisted, of course, so I observed "Well you won't need them in the bathroom!"

At this point all the ushers and loiterers around us started to laugh. In a moment of inspiration I continued with, "at least, I HOPE you won't need them to go to the bathroom!"

I'm such a wit!

And SF Ballet was awesome, of course.
