Petsitting

Ah, the joys of children, er, pets. I hope you enjoy these Christmas email exchanges as much as I did! Names have been generalized so that you can have the fun of guessing them. :D

hi Meg-
i wanted to update you re: Mitzi. i've had her in your room today because she peed in the living room and somehow managed to hit my room as well. it's strange because since Ozzie has been gone, Mitzi has really seemed like a different animal. she runs, plays, and has been in a great mood.
anyways, i wanted to let you know so your friend would know why Mitzi's in your room. i've been making sure she has food and fresh water.
have a nice Xmas!!!

hi again Meg-
i just realized why Mitzi has not been using her litter box; your bathroom door has been closed. anyways, its open now; and so is your bedroom door.
talk soon,

Hey Catsitter,

Roommate just emailed me saying that Mitzi's been going to the bathroom on the carpet and he discovered it's because the door to the bathroom has been closed. Obviously, this door should NEVER be closed since that's where the litterbox is. Please make sure that it's open when you check up on her. Maybe it's habit for you to close it? Or maybe Roommate's had someone over
who's used my bathroom? Weird.

Thanks again & I hope you're having a great holiday!

oh i am so sorry. I remembered to leave it open the first day, but I forgot last night. Although you never know who he invites over when you are not around.... I am so sorry miss meg.

No worries. Roommate likes to clean, so we'll just say it's been good for him. :D Of course, cat pee is pretty noxious...

Everything seemed to be cleared up after that, but upon my return...

Round the Second

Thanks so much for taking care of Mitzi! I’m always happy for her to be alive when I return from a vacation :D. Do you want to do the whole key return thing in ballet next Wednesday? Of course, if you want moolah sooner, I’m not doing anything so I can stalk on over to your house whenever…

FYI, there was a whole lot of pee in the litterbox when I scooped it tonight, so I guess you’ve just been scooping the poop. It’s actually clumping litter, so both pee & poop are scoopable. I’m sure that any misunderstanding is my fault. I know I state it ambiguously. The phrase “scoop poop” is just so much more musical than “scoop all the icky things in the litterbox from the business end of a cat”. (actually, not so much ambiguous as down-right misleading! Sorry… And, though it isn’t musical, that second phrase IS pretty fun to say!!)

My hip hurts. It has an owee. I was cruelly attacked by the door of the In-n-out in Salinas…

I hope you got lots of super Christmas goodies! Got any scandalous New Year’s plans?

hey Meg,
i hope you had a good trip!
since i re-opened your bathroom door, for some reason, Mitzi went to the bathroom in the living room 2X and in my room once again. i wanted to ask if you'd be willing to rent a carpet cleaner from nugget (or elsewhere) because the smell of cat pee on carpet really hangs around.
thanks- i'll talk to you soon-
