Welcome!
A school of four diamond tetras has joined the family. See how they sparkle!
I've decided not to retire the name "Napoleon". I just love saying it too much! Plus, there's nothing wrong with a good Napoleon-fish tradition. ;D But I don't think any of these fish are a Napoleon. Napoleons are not tetras. They are not one of a school. A Napoleon needs to be singular! So now I need a few fish names. Don't worry Zoe, one of them can be Barnaby. The biggest one, even!
Unfortunately, the fish store did not have any puffer fish. Well, that's not exactly true. They had one puffer. But it was bucktoothed (it really was, it was so funny looking) and already spoken for besides. They were planning on trying to trim its tooth and then pass it on to the guy who had reserved it. But it was so cute. Sooo cute! So I've decided to keep trying, and when I finally do get a puffer fish, it will be Napoleon III.
Should I shop around? Or should I remain loyal to the local fish store? The nice thing about the local store is that it's a mom-and-pop kind of operation. The proprietors are really knowledgable and conscientous and I trust any fish that I would get there. They personally pick the fish that they stock. So when they go to their dealers (or whoever they get fish from. Is there such thing as fish dealers?), they won't take any fish that look sickly. They say that they usually carry puffer fish, and that those are one of their favorites, but for the past few months, none have been good enough, so they haven't been able to stock them. So probably if I check up on them periodically, I'll eventually be able to get a puffer fish. But if I'm impatient (me? impatient?), there's another fish store in Davis I can check... And there's always PetCo... But I don't think I'd get a PetCo fish. It would probably not be trustworthy...
