Sated

Uf, so full. Went to the new Afghani restaurant in Davis for dinner. It was good! I've never had Afghan food before, so it was an adventure dinner. I love adventure dinners! I got the spinach and lamb dish. Really, it was something that couldn't go wrong. I love both spinach and lamb. And it didn't disappoint. Then we went to the Czech restaurant to celebrate Ed's birthday with dessert and beer. Mmmmm. I had an amazing chocolate torte.

We tried to get the accordian player to play something by Britney Spears, but he said he'd have to practice first. He seemed really reluctant to ad-lib something, though he did offer to let one of us play the keyboard while he did the bellows if we knew anything good. Alas. The only thing I can remember from my days of piano lessons is Mary Had a Little Lamb, which he knew too. That and the first few bars of Memory, but I don't think I could reproduce it one-handed on an accordian. Especially not while under the influence of chocolate torte! After we made our requests he stopped playing and talked with us instead. No one else there seemed to really be paying attention to him anyway. Good times. It's a little disappointing that he didn't play something completely random and wholly inappropriate for the accordian. =P Though I have to say I actually found it reassuring that he didn't have accordian arrangments of Toxic or Oops... I did it again memorized.

  • I think he'd make more money and friends if he'd ditch the accordion for a ukulele...
