Toenails

Two of my toenails were murdered by my backpacking trip in August. They've been lingering on since then, but have recently decided to start slowly detaching themselves from my toes. They aren't ready to be pulled off completely, so it's unfortunate that after ballet and showers, when they're warm and supple, they like to flap around and catch on things like socks or my comforter. It isn't painful so much as just really creepy feeling. To remedy this, I've taped them on, which is quite strange looking: almost as if those toes have been blindfolded in preparation for a firing squad. But why those two? And what about the other eight, who have no choice but to follow them to the wall, yet without the mercy of blindfolds?
