Spawn

The miracle of life was briefly celebrated in my room this week. My snails, after months of trying, finally produced a little snail. It's crazy. You'd think my tank would be overrun by snails, considering that at least 75% of the time will find two of them stuck together. But I guess infant mortality is high, as illustrated by the fact that the little snail is now just an empty shell...

Or perhaps sticking together doesn't always entail mating. If it did, it would mean that slugs galore have the hots for Ozzie. It's seriously gross how many slugs I have to pull off of that monster. It's a good thing that Ozzie's fixed. Cat-slug hybrids would surely be pretty freaky. I mean, a sluggish cat probably wouldn't be that unusual, but a catty slug? Craziness!
