Stuff the ballot

Last week while we were waiting to get rid of the atmosphere, my friend Ed showed me an interesting website. ratemykitten.com. It's pretty funny. As you can probably guess from the name, it shows you pictures of people's cats, and you get to rate them on a scale of 1 to 10. It's a pretty off idea, if you ask me. I mean, people's cats are like their babies. Everyone thinks their baby is cute, and nobody can stand to hear you say it's ugly. The same applies for their cats.

Needless to say, there are a lot of ugly cats (and babies too, for that matter). And quite a few of them have had their pictures posted on this website. The funny thing is that you can also post comments about the cats. And no matter that a given cat might be a hideously ugly, fat, feline blob, the comments are all super gushy. Here are some representative samples:

~ "Cute and adorable. precious baby."

~ "o this kitty is so cute"

~ "WOW!!!! THATS AN AMAZINGLY CUTE CAT!!!!! :) (better take care of that cat, lol!!)" (this one was really ugly)

~ "Beautiful kitty!! That is soo adorable and cute." (this one's a blob)

~ "THis kitty is precious! what is her name? i want her!" (this one is so ugly, you should see it yourself)

(is it just me, or does the word "precious" make you vomitous? =D)

So anyway, since we had time to kill (atmospheric correction takes a while), and I had just scanned pictures Ozzie, we decided to upload a few too. Of course, I am guaranteed to take umbrage if Ozzie doesn't score in the top ranks. And if any of those blob-cats beat him, ooooh, you'd better watch out! So humor me.... Stuff the ballot!
