Despite the extent to which we disliked each other growing up, I have a good sister. She is, however, out of her mind. The other day I commented that I thought Nicole Kidman looked really good on the cover of our mom's Good Housekeeping, that pictures of her seem to be hit-or-miss. Jenny's lunatic response was that I only liked Nicole Kidman because she looked like me.

Who-wha?!

Crazy crazy crazy. This is the first time anyone's ever professed a likeness between Nicole Kidman and I. (And to any of you who've forgotten what I look like, such a likeness most definitely does not exist!) What's funny is that people do variously claim that I resemble some actress or other. The most common one is Gwyneth Paltrow. Again, I don't see the resemblance, and believe people holding this view are crazy. Their rebuttle is that it's mostly my smile that reminds them of Gwyneth. Um, ok... Ron is one of those adherents to the belief that I have at least some Gwyneth-like components. (I'm pasty-white, I'll grant him that one...). This is kind of funny, because supposedly one of his friends is obsessed with Gwyneth Paltrow and now wants to meet me... hmmm.

The most flattering, but also the most farfetched of my purported celebrity resemblances is Audrey Hepburn. I have to say that I'm in love with Audrey Hepburn. I think she is one of the most beautiful women ever. I also personally believe that my grandmother looked like her when she was younger, and this is how I envision her. I know that there's absolutely no basis for this belief, yet I hold it. I think part of it is that I greatly admire my grandmother, and consider her to be very elegant. Well, Audrey Hepburn is one of the most supremely elegant stars, so there must be at least some grounds for my conviction... When I was expounding my grandma-Audrey hypothesis to someone, they said that they believed me to be true, since I also look something like Audrey. Maybe they were trying to be nice? Maybe they just don't know what Audrey Hepburn looks like? Who knows...

Though I must admit, there is a celebrity (albeit a minor one) that does look eerily like me: The girl who was in The Patriot, Lisa Brenner, I believe. Our faces, at least, could be interchangeable in some of the photos I've seen of her. Weird...
