Felix come home!
Well, I was going to enlighten you guys on my Texas wedding experience, but something much more urgent has come up. Felix is missing! Felix, as you remember, is our dear cat, a rather rotund marmalade. He hasn't been seen since Saturday morning. This is very unusual for him. He's always been allowed outside, but he never abused the priviledge. He's never been gone more than a couple hours before. Usually he stays within our yard, even. Most of the time he's waiting in the front yard for me to get home from campus so I can let him in. Not because he's shut out (the back door is almost always open), but because he's too much of a lazy blob to jump back over the fence into the backyard.
We think he must have disappeared because he thought we abandoned him. I was gone for the weekend for Ann's wedding, and Cassie left for Tahoe on Saturday. I think this is the first time he's ever really been left on his own. I mean, he's frequently alone when we're both at school, though most of the time he has Chester to keep him company. He must have somehow realized that we weren't just away on day trips. But the silly head... I came back just the next day! He should've waited! Now we're the abandoned ones...
Everyone keep your eye out for a super friendly, super cute, kind of fat orange cat. Even those of you on the east coast! You never know....
Hopefully our kitty will come home. Hopefully someone just found him and took him in, and something terrible hasn't happened to him. Cassie's making flyers and put a lost cat ad in the paper. Hopefully they'll turn him up.
Here's hoping. Hoping hoping hoping.
