A vertiginous thrill

Yesterday I went back to Stanford. It was fantabulous. It's been an incredibly long time since I've been back. Well, 2 months. That's a long time. Two months without seeing that whole gang of friends, without dancing. What is my life coming to? =D It's strange. Last quarter I couldn't go two weeks without toddling back down to the Bay Area. This quarter two months flashes by. (And we all know why that is ;-) ). Though of course I would've gone back a month ago if I hadn't been hampered by temporary death (stupid cold). Two months didn't seem like that long either, until I got out on the open road (I-80). Then it struck me just how long it'd been.

I had such an amazing time. Donia and I decided to go to Gombei for dinner, which apparently is where about 11 of our other friends had also decided to go. Including Kristin, who's exiled herself in North Carolina for law school! Yay. And after dinner was Jammix! Oh, I had such a great time. This is where I belong! Not that Davis is all that bad, but it's a whole different dynamic. I've become a pretty flirty person lately (it was all started by Miss Marianne, when she cast me as a wicked step sister). But I don't really have much of an opportunity to flirt here, since everyone's seriously attached. Not that that really matters, since I'm an opportunistic flirter, and have no intentions, but it does make a difference. So I guess I latched on to last night to make up for not flirting much for the past 2 months. Whew, wild Meg on the loose! =)

And just to dance! Oh, I love to dance so much. Dancing makes me so intensely happy. Well, not all dancing. The dancing in Davis just kind of depresses me. So I avoid it, which is why I haven't danced for 2 months. But Stanford dancing, that's for me. There's such a great community. And I'm a part of it, rather than a linger-on-the-out-skirter. It's so nice to be a part of a community...
