Where, oh where has my little brain gone?
My brain's taking a vacation. Unfortunately, it didn't tell me when it'd be returning. I'm starting to wonder if it will ever come back. I kind of need it now. Only for another week... Then it can go back to wherever it is...
It kind of went caput and ditched me about three weeks ago, when the first draft of that paper was due. I've been slacking off something awful since then! That's not to say I haven't done any work, of course. But I've done the minimum amount of work possible. Pretty much when it became an immediate necessity, I'd do it. Which means that such long term things as finals and final papers got ignored. So it goes, so it goes. So now here I am, with a whole lot of work to get done in a short amount of time. Yikes! And yet I still don't have the fear of god in me... Why am I not motivated yet? Oh well. I'll get by.
Speaking of the fear of god, I learned a new thing yesterday. Kind of interesting. You remember the story about when Moses was leading his people through the desert, and manna came down from heaven to nourish them? Well, I learned the source of manna... What manna really is... Apparently, there's this species of leaf hopper (kind of like a grass hopper) that lives in those parts. It bores into plants to feed on amino acids and proteins and stuff. But sometimes the plants aren't so nutritious, and only have sugars and the like. When this happens, the leaf hoppers just poop out the carbohydrates. And that's what manna is. Pooped out carbohydrates. So if manna came from heaven, there are implications for heaven really being the digestive tract of a bug. Hmmmm. I guess that's what I have to look forward to, since I drive a Prius =).
