A public service announcement

My forearms got kind of trashed yesterday. There are scratches all over them from forcing my way through willows (we had to hike about 2 miles up a streambed and back to get to the sampling ara) and chaparral. Add to that intensely dry skin because of the harsh anti-poison oak products. So my skin was so dry it itched, which was really making me paranoid. Itching is not good, especially when you've recently tromped through vast quantities of poison oak. So I put lotion on. Think back to the scratches.... Lotion on open wounds = unpleasant burning sensation. Yow! That's my public service announcement. Don't put lotion on cuts unless you've got a damn good reason for it. And I think that I did. The burning stopped after a little while, and the lotion stopped the itching. I'm very happy with the outcome...
