Bet you didn't know....

I learned some pretty amazing statistics about human fecundity in class yesterday. Do you know what the most children born to one woman is? You're probably thinking 20 is about the highest number imaginable, right? Oh, you are so far off! 69! Yow! I don't even want to know how that's possible... How many batches of triplets she had... The woman, incidentally, was a Russian peasant.

Ok. Now how about the maximum children conceived by a single man? It's up there! 888. We were a little disappointed... It probably could've been higher. This record belongs to an individual named "Ishmail the bloodthirsty." That's a pretty great name. But I think perhaps "the horny" might be an even better description!

Time for the last stat. The percent of human children conceived in an extramarital affair. Or in other words, the percent of husbands who are cuckolds... This is a bare minimum. 10%. Yeah. And from this Eli and I came up with a project idea for me! Determining this actual percent. Using remote sensing, so I'll fit in with my lab. That's right, aerial photographs and satellite images to spy on people having affairs! And we figure that given the current political situation, the time is right to get government funding to snoop! Think I should propose this idea at our next lab meeting? ;-)
